A multimillion-dollar renovation at the International Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport, Rhode Island, gives the historic site a fresh approach to the game of tennis and creates a “unified symbol of greatness” with a cast racket for each inductee. The museum renovations included a reimagining of the Hall of Famers Gallery and the Celebration Gallery, two areas that celebrate the sport’s history and take visitors on a journey through decades of tennis history. The Hall of Famers Gallery honors every Hall of Famer inducted into the hall and a key symbol of the renovation is a cast racket for every inductee. The Celebration Gallery features unique artifacts and tells the stories of generations, including with an augmented reality experience. “We are ecstatic to unveils these innovative, interactive spaces in the museum and are grateful to those who partnered with us to preserve the history of the game and accomplish these renovations,” says Dan Faber, CEO of the International Tennis Hall of Fame. “We cannot wait to welcome fans from around the world to Newport and our facility to celebrate tennis history and honor some of the sport’s most transformative champions.” A renovated International Tennis Hall of Fame offers a fresh perspective on tennis history. Additional areas receiving updates as part of the project include The Majors, presented by Rolex, which is an interactive journey through the majors narrated by Roger Federer; the Newport Tennis traditions Galley that celebrates the origins of tennis in Newport and its connection to the U.S. Open, including by featuring the U.S. Open trophies when they aren’t in New York for the annual tournament; the opening of a Legends Lounge for donors and Hall of Famers; an updated Welcome Center, renovated Bellevue Boutique and new museum store; and a renovated court tennis viewing gallery that overlooks the most picturesque grass court on the site. MORE: International Tennis Hall Of Fame Preserving History As part of the museum’s goal to display unique and contemporary items from recent tennis history, new exhibits include Andre Agassi’s “Statement CoolMax” shirt and shorts, Madison Keys’ outfit from her first major singles title at the Australian Open in 2025, Jannik Sinner’s racket from the 2024 U.S. Open, where he won his second career major and an umpire’s scorecard from the 1968 match between Rod Laver and Ken Rosewall at the first-ever Open Era tournament. The new Hall of Famers Gallery at the International Tennis Hall of Fame. The Hall of Famers Gallery will feature a Class of 2025 tribute exhibit for this year’s inductees, Mariah Sharapova and Bob and Mike Bryan. The three players will be honored at an induction celebration the weekend of Aug. 21-23. Artifacts from the Bryan brothers’ careers on display including doubles championship trophies form the 2013 Australian Open, 2013 Roland Garros, 2013 Wimbledon, 2012 U.S. Open and 2003 Roland Garros.
