According to Bloomberg, Coinbase has obtained a financial services license in Australia and received authorization for retail derivatives from the Australian Securities and Investments Commission, becoming the first cryptocurrency exchange to directly receive such approval. The company plans to expand into Australia, initially launching cryptocurrency and stock perpetual contract trading, followed by expansions into futures, options, stock trading, and payment services.

Coinbase stated that it is exploring partnerships with several Australian financial institutions, including major banks, and is in discussions with pension funds. Additionally, Coinbase plans to launch fiat services in India in the coming weeks or months and expand its operations in Singapore.
